IES LM-48 – Approved Method: Testing the Calibration of Locking-Type Photoelectric Control Devices Used in Outdoor Applications
This document describes a procedure and test equipment by which photoelectric control devices can be tested to obtain accurate, optimally comparable data. The system aspects that need to be understood to calibrate light sensitive control devices used in roadway and outdoor area lighting are covered. Although photo controls are often used in indoor applications, the method of testing the calibration described in this document is limited to photo controls used in outdoor applications. The test procedures described in this document are limited to testing the photometric calibration of the device only. In addition to the guidelines for testing the response of photoelectric control devices, supplemental information is provided for the construction of a test apparatus suitable for such testing.
