This test method covers the determination of the susceptibility of an aggregate or combination of an aggregate with supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) for participation in expansive alkali- silica reaction by measurement of length change of concrete cylinders.
This standard does not purpose to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. A specific precautionary statement is given in the section on reagents.
